That's what Clomid and Enclomiphene do. They're both SERMs, which stands for Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators. That's a technical way of saying they block estrogen signals at a specific spot in your brain, the hypothalamus, which tricks your body into thinking it needs to produce more testosterone. The result is that your pituitary gland starts sending stronger signals to your testes to get to work.

Understanding Your Options
Clomid vs. Enclomiphene — What's the Difference?
Both are SERMs that raise testosterone by stimulating your body's own production. But they're not identical, and the difference matters depending on how you respond to treatment.
Clomiphene citrate, the generic name for Clomid, is a molecule that contains two isomers. One is enclomiphene, which does the testosterone-boosting work. The other is zuclomiphene, which lingers in the body longer and can cause side effects in some men including mood changes, visual disturbances, and elevated estrogen. These aren't common, but they're real.
Enclomiphene is the purified version, just the active isomer, without the other half. Men who are sensitive to Clomid often do significantly better on Enclomiphene alone. It clears the system faster, tends to have a cleaner side effect profile, and still raises testosterone effectively. The tradeoff is that it's not FDA approved and isn't covered by most insurance plans, so cost can be a factor.
